Apprenticeship
Students are highly encouraged to continue for a fourth year of apprenticeship at the school – at no additional tuition. The fourth year, which is required in the Alliance Japan and Germany schools, offers the student the opportunity to synthesize the rich information of the 3 year program into a reliable and marketable skill, allowing the student to begin to find their own, unique teaching style while still having the support of senior teachers. Students completing the entire apprenticeship year would acquire a total of 1600 hours of study. Please refer to ‘Apprentice Opportunities’ at the end of this page for more information.
Apprentice Opportunities
AASW graduates are equally skilled in individual and group teaching modalities. Students are expected to apprentice at classes, workshops, and private lessons throughout their training.
In an attempt to gain the practical skills necessary to help others, trainees travel to where people work and play to experience, firsthand, how to help others incorporate Alexander’s principles into their lives. Some of the teaching opportunities AASW students have had include:
Potters in their studio
Cooks in their kitchens
Dancers in dance class/rehearsal
